Getting a fish!

I am so exited I am going to get a fish. I am going to get a Betta, hopefully a crown tail cause they are so pretty. I have a 3 gallon tank sitting on my dresser. I just need to test the water, and get whatver I need to lower whatever is in the water, if I am lucky I won't have to touch it. I know that wont happen though. So it may be another 2 weeks till I get my fish DX
So I went to this pet store near us to get the water tested. The lady I talked to a couple days before told me I could bring it in before I got the fish. I talked to a different lady, and she told me to buy a test fish and if it died to bring it in get my money back and then they would test my water! I was so mad there is no way I would kill a poor innocent fish on purpose. And then I was just thinking why would I buy a fish I really liked just to possibly see it die a couple days later, or if I got a fish I didn't like all that much and nothing happens and then I am stuck with it. So I am going to go buy a test kit, probably on Tuesday and if any of you who run across this own a fish and have a test kit you know how much they are. DX I just wanted a fish! Who knew it took so much to care for them? But if my mom would just take me to the store a bit more I might be a little closer. Oh well all in good time I suppose.

Socks for kids

A few years ago I packed a shoe box for operation christmas child. Operation christmas child sends shoe boxes full of toys, soap, toothbrushes and other little things to children who would never get a christmas present otherwise.

So a few months after my shoe box was sent out I recieved a letter from the young man who recieved it. It was very cool and I was so exited to hear from a kid in another country. Uganda, Africa to be exact. We sponsered him for a while, and once in a while we still send him money. I am blessed to still talk to him at least once a week. I love recieving emails from him!
But he is an adult now, and there are kids around him, who don't have a lot of toys. So my plan is to send him some sock critters to hand out to the kids around him, who don't really have any toys. If anyone has any ideas of other types of homemade toys that would be great!

More sock animals!!

I am just loving making these. The purple one was made out of a used sock. Mostly just as a practice one. And of course I just had to give her a name! It is Torhu. She is so cute, and very bold. She is best friends with Boura. They are almost inseperable since they met last night.

This next one is still a work in progress. I really think she needs a bow. She is just a baby sock creature. And so far no names have jumped out at me yet.

I will of course post finished pictures of the baby when I am finished. XD

Sock Critter

A few days ago I got a book "Stray Sock Sewing" by Daniel. I love this book! The pictures are so cute, and the directions are really good and helpful. It shows how to make the simplest sock critter to a more advanced, and is a great help to help you creat your own one of a kind creatures. This is my first critter I basically copied him from the book, exept the sock of course, and the ribbon was my idea. His arms turned out a little weird, but I think it makes him look like he is asking for a hug! I had a lot of fun making him, I think it took about 2 hours to do. And I can't wait to make another one. Maybe I'll make him a sister?

Socks from salvation army. (they were brand new still in package) 50 cents!!!

My sister thought he looked like a bowling pin lol so he got the name boura. That I guess according to the online dictionarys means bowler in japanese. Well I hope you like my little critter. And come and look at other projects I put on!

Welcome to my blog, I hope somebody reads this someday. But my first post here is about my cat. Though this is mostly a place to display my art, and the atc cards I recieve from other people.
So for my birthday my parents got me a calico kitten. She is growing like crazy, but is still playful and loves people. Though she doesn't like to be held much she has to be in the same room as us.
Her name is Rin and she absulutely loves feathers, they are her favorite thing to play with. She also loves bells.
I love making treats for her, and she of course loves them. She will not touch store bought treats. I have been playing around with a few recipies and will probally post them here, along with plushies and other forms of art I do. I love pretty much all crafts. So keep checking back for new things XD
